Hakone-Yosegi-Zaiku is a technique designated as a traditional national craft. It utilizes the natural colors of various trees, gathering them together to create intricate geometric patterns.

It is characterized by the beautiful patterns created by craftsmen, allowing you to appreciate the natural color and texture of solid wood.

Based on the patterned boards (Taneita) created by combining wooden parts, shaving the Taneita thinly like a sheet of paper using a plane, and then applying these thin sheets, called "Zuku," to the surface of wooden products.
This process is called "Zuku-bari".

This product was made using Hakone's unique Zuku technique, in which the patterned surface is sliced with a plane.
Kikko (turtle shell pattern) and hemp leaf patterns of Zuku are applied to the lid and surrounding areas, with a checkerboard pattern inside, creating a timeless design.
